That post I did on ChatGPT the other week was pretty popular. Not only do people want to learn more about Jobs-to-be-Done, but they are also looking for shortcuts for creating job maps and desired outcomes. Here’s my take, the real shortcut should be to getting your key questions answered. Job mapping is simply one of many means to get to an end.
What do you hope to get from artificial intelligence? What will you do to yourself, to make sure AI doesn’t take over your work? I have my thoughts, but I’d like to hear yours.
I asked ChatGPT to help me map out jtdb. It is a pretty efficient tool to articulate jtdb but it falls short when we dug deeper into topics with high expertise level and specifics.

Essentially we have to feed it with the expertise specific in relation to the jtdb and only then it manages to craft coherent answers/questions with a fair amount of “guesstimate”.
AI should help us craft better questions and answer and ultimately solve our most pressing pain. And there are many.
If AI should take over my job because it performs it better why should I care ? The main reason for many of us to work is to ensure practical needs (food, shelter,…).
I f AI could solve those jtdb and in exchange it take my job…well be my guest.
If not for money we wouldn’t compromise on our passions.
